Do we have the will to make poverty history?

Baca tulisan bagus ini. Tengah kita yang urbanites ini menikmati semua kesenangan kesenangan fisik. Hidup hedonistik. Obesitas, stress, rat race, makan enak, mall, club, spa, fitness centre, macet, rumah dengan AC full blast..

Diluar 100 meter dari perimeter anda, anak anak mengedarkan extasy terjerat dalam lingkar uang mudah sehingga susah keluar dari jerat setan itu. Gadis gadis memperdagangkan buah dadanya tubuhnya untuk 200 - 300 ribu sehari. Lingkar lingkar setan yang turun terus ke dalam semakin dalam semakin menjerat. Apakah semua ini pantas untuk disebut kemajuan ?

So ... how do you feel about this, quoted from the below linked document (issued dated 2005)?

Here :

• 45 million more children will die between now and 2015

• 247 million more people in sub-Saharan Africa will be living on less than $1 a day in 2015

• 97 million more children will still be out of school in 2015

• 53 million more people in the world will lack proper sanitation facilities.
